The Orchard Primary School is a popular school with parents and this has resulted in us being an over-subscribed school with a long waiting list.

Admission to the nursery are dealt with by the school.

Nursery admissions

Nursery admissions are dealt with by the school. Children can take up a free, part time place in the nursery in the September after their third birthday, but cannot be admitted before the school year in which they reach the age of four.

Children born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020 can be admitted to a nursery class in September 2023.

Applying for The Orchard Primary School nursery

Nursery admissions are managed by individual schools. Parents applying for a place at The Orchard Primary School nursery should complete a nursery application form, available to download from the London Borough Hounslow website or email parent@tops.hounslow.sch.uk to request one. Return the completed form to the school office either via email or by post. Please note:

• Completed application forms must be submitted to the school no later than 10 March 2023.
• A copy of the current council tax bill (which is in the applicant’s name) and a copy of the child’s birth certificate should also be submitted with the application.
• Offer Day May 2023. Parents will receive a letter from the school detailing the outcome of their application.
• 12th May 2023. This is the deadline for parents to return the acceptance slip for a nursery place offered.

We advise all parents to read the ‘Starting Nursery Class in a School’ in the Hounslow brochure before making an application. The brochure contains information on:

• how to apply for a place at a nursery
• criteria for admission to Hounslow nurseries
• full address and contact details for nurseries in Hounslow
• details on Early Education Entitlement

Please be aware that education in a school nursery is not compulsory and it may not be possible for every parent to secure a place in a school nursery for their child. Therefore, parents whose child already has a place at private day nursery or playgroup may prefer to keep their child in the provision where they are settled, until the child starts Reception in the following September.

Completed application forms can either by emailed to : parent@tops.hounslow.sch.uk or posted to: Orchard Primary School, Orchard Road, Hounslow, TW4 5JW . Please ensure they are accompanied with a copy of a birth certificate and a current council tax bill. The closing date for Nursery Admissions is 10 March 2023.

Primary school admissions

Parents of children born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019 must apply for a reception place for September 2023. All applications must be received by 15 January 2023. Click here for Primary Admission Information

Secondary School Transfer

Children born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012 will be transferring from their primary school to a secondary school in September 2023. Online applications open on 1st September 2022. The closing date for applications is 31 October 2022.
